Oklahoma County Parking Garage
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

TAParchitecture joined forces with Desman Associates of Chicago and C.H. Guernsey & Company of Oklahoma City to design the 1,014- vehicle Oklahoma County Parking Garage in downtown Oklahoma City at Dean McGee and Hudson Avenues. TAP is also designing upgrades to the County’s adjacent Metro Parking Garage so that the two structures can function efficiently together. The 8-story, 351,000 square foot structure connects to the OGE building at the ground floor level, allowing secure parking for employees. In addition, the garage is being designed to allow for future connection to the Metro Parking Garage. The structure is constructed of cost-effective and efficient pre-cast concrete. The twin towers housing stairs/elevators are clad in a full-height glass curtain wall system giving visual interest in a cost-effective and low-maintenance way. Geometric openings allow natural light and ventilation while giving the garage a stylish Art Deco feel. The geometric shapes are functional, as well, with inverted triangles providing way-finding markers for entry points to the Garage.
