Mahogany Prime Steakhouse
Oklahoma City, OK
Mahogany Prime Steakhouse in Oklahoma City was designed for long-time client the Hal Smith Restaurant group. Design of 5,000 square foot Mahogany restaurant required the creation of a series of uniquely intimate dinning spaces, offering an upscale atmosphere and meeting the precedent set forth by the other two restaurant locations. The embarking interior goal was to evoke the essence of the rich, exclusive fare served. The design solution lay in the selection of warm surfaces, warm colors and expensive materials. Natural wood and stone were utilized in the walls, floors and fixtures. Easily controlled lighting and no windows in the building gives the restaurant staff the ability to offer a lush atmosphere to each diner, and command of the lighting story throughout the building. The challenge of creating intimacy was met by the creation of three private dinning rooms and two private booths. The rooms provide suitable setting for an array of group needs; small business meetings, family celebrations, and wedding dinners. The private booths seat up to four diners and have a curtain separation from the main dinning room for a cozy experience. Another challenge was met in the separation of the bar area and the main dining room. Not to disturb the flow of the entire space, design of a frameless butt-glazed window was utilized. Glass panels, mounted on a partial height wall, continue to the ceiling allowing a visual connection throughout the entire restaurant.
